Ancient Celtic Proverb:
Owen and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin & Rev. Nóirín Ní Riain

The first of our Extraordinary Teachers for Extraordinary Times series, brothers from one of Ireland’s most esteemed musical and artistic families, Owen and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin draw from a huge musical repertoire spanning thousands of years, embodying Ireland in song; Celtic Sean Nós; medieval Gregorian chant from the Monastic Period; Irish folk songs; and original inspirational pop-songs. Here, they’re joined by their mother, world-renowned Irish theologian and singer Rev. Nóirín Ní Riain, to share with you a beautiful and ancient Celtic proverb:

“Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine.”

In the shadow of each other, we live/in the shelter of each other, we live.
