Hatha Yoga is arguably the most widely-recognized form of yoga in western culture. It’s the path of yoga focused around physical exercises (asanas) and breathing techniques. The word “Hatha” comes from “Ha,” which means Sun, and “Tha,” Moon. Hatha Yoga blends energizing and dynamic yoga postures (under the symbol of the sun) with relaxing and meditative yoga postures (under the symbol of the moon). By combining both types of postures, the body’s energetic system is balanced and the mind and body are connected, creating the optimal ground for deep meditation.
