Nervous System & Restorative Yoga

By AOLRC
September 14, 2017

Internal Medicine 1: The Nervous System & Restorative Yoga Module (60hrs)

The nervous system is in many ways the ruler of the body and mind; the effects we see here spill over into all the other systems of the body. This system is also responsible for a large part of what we can quantify in the therapeutic effects of the yoga practice. The Internal Medicine 1 module will look at the function of the nervous system, common pathologies, and how to adapt a yoga practice to work with dysfunction here.

The tools learned in this training could possibly be one of the most effective means of working with the nervous system through the use of restorative yoga. We’ll investigate the what, why, and how for the application of restorative yoga as a method of regulating the nervous system among other things. This module will explore how to shape the practice specifically to address nervous system dysfunction, how to teach/use restorative yoga, and most importantly, the relevance of this system towards many pathologies and how to utilize these concepts within the yoga practice. Note that the Internal Medicine modules can be completed in any order.

This week-long teacher training module includes 7 nights accommodation and freshly prepared vegetarian meals at the scenic Art of Living Retreat Center. Each day begins with a daily 2-hour gentle morning vinyasa practice and ends with an evening restorative practice to tie together the lecture content presented throughout the day. The training lectures are held before and after lunch, and you will have material to review each evening to help you retain the information covered that day. Our trainings are full days and you will leave with a detailed training manual tailored to this training, a certificate of completion for 60-hour of continued education for yoga teachers and a wealth of information! A program for yoga teachers from all yoga schools/methodologies.

Important note:
Enrollment in Yoga Medicine’s advanced teacher training program is required. Details here

YACEP with Yoga Alliance – CE credits available.

About the Teachers

Tiffany Cruikshank

Yoga Medicine is a community of teachers who are trained to understand the function and dysfunction of the human body in order to work more effectively with healthcare practitioners. Our community of teachers are trained in eastern and western modalities to effectively work with doctors and practitioners of many types so that they can understand the student better and apply the practice to the individual. Our job is to be of service to and support the medical system and the medical providers by working with them to assist their patients along their journey to health.

Yoga Medicine is not a style of yoga but rather a training that educates the teacher to understand the body and create individualized yoga programs for the student based on their understanding of the anatomy, biomechanics, physiology and the traditional practice of yoga. Our teachers are committed to continued education, setting the bar for exceptional knowledge and teaching in the international yoga community with well over 1000hrs of education. More

By AOLRC
September 13, 2017

Release Relax Restore is a 4 day life coaching and yoga retreat created for you to experience rest and relaxation, while releasing things that no longer serve you in order to restore balance to the body, mind and spirit. Tap into your own inner wisdom and creative resources to begin thriving on all levels. You will be guided on this journey through deep stretch and chillax yoga, ontological life coaching, Ayurveda, meditation and breath work and encounter the rejuvenating wonder of fresh mountain air, spa services if you feel called, naps, group discussion and journaling.

Return home revitalized, with an increased sense of awareness of the mind-body connection, tools to take your yoga off the mat and into your life, and an enhanced ability to hear your highest self more clearly.

Policies

Waitlist

If your child is placed on a wait list for his or her session, their position will be determined by the order in which the application was received. Our wait lists are generally fluid as families change their plans and spaces open up throughout the year. We admit on a first come, first serve basis, so the earlier you apply, the better your chances are for admission. If at any point you choose to withdraw from the wait list, you may call, email, or write your request. Please note that in withdrawing from the wait list, you lose your spot, therefore, if you are considering a youth program for a future year, you might want to stay on the wait list because priority may be extended to wait listed campers vs. return campers.

Cancellation

In the event of withdrawal, tuition is refundable, minus a $100 processing fee, if written notice is received by the Summer Program Office by May 1, 2015. No refunds will be made after May 1, 2015 for early withdrawals, session changes, late arrivals, or no-show campers, except in the event of documented physical illness of the camper. In the case of such an event, 50% of unused tuition will be refunded.
