A Spiritual Home for Generations

Give a chance for...transformation. Peace. Miracles.

Gratitude for 2023

Dear friends,

I want to extend my deepest appreciation for your ongoing support. Your generosity has been a cornerstone in our journey, enabling us to offer transformative experiences to over 15,000 participants annually. You empower us to continue our mission of wellness and personal growth.

Our Commitment to Excellence

The Art of Living Retreat Center has always strived for excellence, a commitment recognized by awards like USA Today’s recognition of the center as one of the Top 3 Wellness Destinations in the United States for the last seven years. Many well-known publications and media channels such as Reader’s Digest, NBC, Travel+Leisure, Evening Standard, Afar, and Success have consistently rated AOLRC as one of the top retreat destinations in the world. These accolades are not just ours but shared with every individual who has supported us along the way.

Current and Future Initiatives

With your support, we have been able to accomplish the following renovation projects and upgrades to the property over the last year:

  • Paving of the road along Rock Cliff from Dining Hall to Spa and along Whispering Hills Road and lines marked on the road.
  • Floatation tank installation.
  • 52 retreat rooms converted to hotel-style rooms.
  • Installing RFID locks on all guest rooms on campus.

Purna Dining Hall, Trails, Solar Panels

As we look forward, we are excited to embark on several capital projects that promise to enhance our retreat center significantly. Below are a few of these special projects, along with the funds needed to implement those projects.

  • Renovating the Euphrates Building—which was struck by lightning—for guest lodging. ($1.5M)
  • Creating a serene nature trail for walking, meditation, and contemplation. ($250,000)
  • Developing comfortable outdoor seating spaces for community building and relaxation. ($50,000)
  • Installing new Dining Hall windows to replace older, considerably degraded ones. ($150,000)
  • Implementing new boilers in our lodging buildings to replace aging and non-functioning furnaces. ($120,000)
  • Launching a renewable energy project with solar panels, reaffirming our commitment to sustainability. ($75,000)

These projects are not just new initiatives—they are steps towards transforming the Art of Living Retreat Center into a sanctuary where individuals can find peace, healing, and a sense of community.

Your Role in this Transformation

To bring these projects to fruition, we rely on the generosity of our supporters. Your contribution is a direct investment in the physical and spiritual well-being of thousands who seek refuge and renewal at our Center. We hope to raise $1,000,000 by December 31, 2023, and I am thrilled you’re considering donating to this cause.

I could feel a very distinct difference in the energy level of this place. It was so easy to meditate there. The whispers of the trees, the vast expansive views of the blue ridge mountains, beautiful accommodation—it's a perfect setting for a spiritual rejuvenation.

Incredible location!! It is difficult to describe in words the serenity that the mind gets into [at the ashram]. I’ve done the Art of Silence course twice here and I can say that it is the best vacation I have had in my life. The energy levels are high all the time, the volunteers are wonderful, and the food is great.

There are no words to describe the feeling when one is at the ashram in Boone. The programs, the food, and environment are just heavenly, hence, I guess, the name "Heavenly mountain." I would recommend everyone to go there at least once and treat themselves to this slice of heaven on earth.
