A Spiritual Home for Generations

Give a chance for...transformation. Peace. Miracles.

For nearly a decade, we have had the privilege and honor of enjoying this beautiful Center—this sacred land and inspiring place that was selflessly gifted to us and future generations by Gurudev.  Together, we have shared countless Guru Purnimas and events, walked the grounds, and listened to the words and guidance of Gurudev in this serene and spiritual setting—unforgettable memories we will carry with us forever.

“People of various faiths, race, religion, philosophy, and tendencies can all come together here and find that common goal in everyone of us, to find the ultimate truth, and to find the depth of humanism that we are all gifted with. Let this place be a chance for miracles in the lives of millions of people—where tears turn into smiles, desperation turns into hope, dullness turns into creativity and hatred turns into love.” —Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Gurudev shared his inspired vision and mission for the Center, as well as his aspiration for a one-world family, during the inauguration of the Center eight years ago. He guided and blessed the team asking them to invite like-minded groups and teachers to our ashram and go beyond just his visits and foundation programs to make the Center self-sustainable and a spiritual home for generations to come. Over the years, with your support, we have realized this vision, but we’d also like to expand on it—bring the gifts of the Art of Living to those who need them and connect to more people in that common goal of humanity and wisdom. We’ve got big and brave ideas and to put it bluntly, they cost money. From maintaining our facilities to curating new programming and educational assets to employing the best of the best—staff to lead transformative experiences for those who seek our expertise—to getting our messages of happiness and health out into the world, we can’t do it alone. While this is the final push of 2020, we’re already planning for a bigger and braver 2021. Will you help?

While you have a personal connection and experience with the ashram and consider this your home, the ashram also hosts numerous guest retreats with renowned faculty and guest presenters, provides external group retreats space for community and connection, and offers the healing therapies of Shankara Ayurveda Wellness to so many when they need it most—all of which help to sustain the organization from year to year. In 2019, we hosted almost 400 retreats and more than 11,000 guests, and welcomed around 1,100 participants to Art of Living entry-level programs such as the Happiness Retreat. We experienced more than a 16% growth in 2019 and we were poised for a 30% growth in 2020 with several big conferences and groups lined up. Unfortunately, that vital sustenance came to an abrupt halt in March with the arrival of COVID-19.

Now is the time for us to come together in order to preserve that which we hold so dear to our hearts.  As a family, it is important for us to ensure the invaluable gifts of the lineage will be carried on over time.  And, if we want our future generations to have the opportunity to walk these paths, to share time in these meditation halls, to chant and sing by the fire, and to celebrate the art of living, then we need to work together, and swiftly.

With your help, we hope to raise $5,000,000 in the final quarter of 2020. These funds will go a long way in helping us recover from our 2020 COVID-19 losses and prepare to reopen in 2021. Each of you already contributes to this community in countless ways, and all of us at the Boone ashram are beyond grateful for your generous spirits. However, in this time of need we ask that you please consider making a tax-deductible gift of any size to help support our mission—or, to use Gurudev’s inspiring words, to help us keep the “chance for miracles” alive.

We look forward to welcoming you back home to your ashram in 2021 when we can all safely be together again!

I could feel a very distinct difference in the energy level of this place. It was so easy to meditate there. The whispers of the trees, the vast expansive views of the blue ridge mountains, beautiful accommodation—it's a perfect setting for a spiritual rejuvenation.

Incredible location!! It is difficult to describe in words the serenity that the mind gets into [at the ashram]. I’ve done the Art of Silence course twice here and I can say that it is the best vacation I have had in my life. The energy levels are high all the time, the volunteers are wonderful, and the food is great.

There are no words to describe the feeling when one is at the ashram in Boone. The programs, the food, and environment are just heavenly, hence, I guess, the name "Heavenly mountain." I would recommend everyone to go there at least once and treat themselves to this slice of heaven on earth.
