If you think there’s more to yoga than can be experienced through a rigid and formulaic practice, this course is for you.
Alexandria Crow will deconstruct the current yoga pose library and popular sequencing techniques, as well as common cues and the current yoga landscape in general.
And then she will teach you how to reconstruct a personalized, accessible and sustainable practice for yourself or your students.
Through lecture, physical practice, discussion, homework and theoretical work, you will learn:
- How to make a yoga practice work for the individual body — rather than making the body work in ways that do not suit or benefit it
- How to create sequences and cues which allow students to learn about their own physical characteristics and patterns with freedom and insight
- How to make your practice and teaching sustainable, functional, and ethical
You will go home with a greater understanding of anatomy and physiology in relationship to yoga practice, and the skills to develop more personal and physically supportive sequences and classes.
This program is open to all, but is of particular interest to yoga teachers.
Alexandria Crow is an internationally respected yoga teacher and teacher trainer, and the creator of the Yoga Physics methodology. She has a talent for explaining complex elements of anatomy, physiology, yoga practice and philosophy in simple terms — making them approachable for all. She shares her knowledge with her students and other teachers to promote yoga practice and teaching that is wise, sustainable and mindful, with a focus on body mechanics and constant encouragement for each individual to explore their personal range of motion and capabilities.
