At the heart of yoga are the practices that lead us into deeper communion with our true self, the Divine spark within. While the pace of daily life continues to increase, we may find ourselves spending less time nourishing our spirits. Devotional practices of the heart, community with like minded spiritual seekers, time in nature, and time for silence are key to communion with our Divine nature. Yoga practices that stretch and renew the body combine with time honored spiritual practices from yoga’s oldest wisdom texts to open our hearts to bliss within! Yogic wisdom texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Upanishads hold gems that ignite insights into our own personal journey. Serious spiritual aspirants know that study of wisdom texts is foundational to a deep spiritual journey.

Together with our study of yoga philosophy integrated with physical practices to lighten the body, breath practices to elevate prana and meditative practices to soothe the mind, we will begin to move deeply within to the Divine nature of our own heart.

All levels of yoga practitioners welcome from beginners to advanced.

About the Teachers

Elizabeth Yates has been loving, living, and teaching yoga for over 20 years. While living a high stress life in the corporate environment, she took her first yoga class 25 years ago! Through yoga she realized the pain in her body was caused by contraction that was the body’s response to a stress filled life. That first class changed her life and the yoga techniques learned so long ago have blossomed into a way of life that relieves suffering for herself and all those who work with her through one on one yoga therapy and group classes. She lovingly assists each and every student in finding their unique path to wholeness. Her core belief is that yoga is adapted to the individual for deep healing of mind, body, and spirit. Her teachings infuse laughter, compassion, love and deep respect for the individual and the wisdom teachings of yoga.

Elizabeth’s extensive education includes a Master’s Degree in Counseling, multiple yoga teacher certifications, and Structural Yoga Therapist Certification. Her highest and most beloved study and practice is a deep relationship with the Divine. She is an avid student and practitioner of Vedanta and Christianity.

Emily Walkup is an avid seeker, student and teacher with a deep passion for being of service to others. She is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) and currently teaches at multiple locations in the Atlanta area.

Emily is passionate about healthy living and pursuing whole body, mind and soul wellness. It is important to her that yoga be accessible to everyone; she is humbled and blessed to be a community partner of the Yoga and Body Image Coalition. More recently, she became a certified Y12SR (Yoga for 12-Step Recovery) under Nikki Myers and is grateful to hold regular Y12SR meetings.

6:30pm: Dinner

7:30pm: Kirtan (Meditative Chant)

8:30pm: Meet and Greet, Altar Ceremony

Friday

7:30 – 9:00am: Breakfast

9:30 – 10:00am: Yoga Philosophy

10:00 – 11:00am: Asana, Pranayama

11:00am – 12:00pm: Mind and Meditation

12:00pm: Lunch

5:00 – 6:30pm: Restorative Yoga

6:30pm: Dinner

Saturday

6:30 – 7:30am: Sunrise Asana Practice on the Deck

7:30 – 8:30am: Breakfast

8:30 – 9:30am: Nature Hike

9:30 – 11:00am: Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Meditation

12:00pm: Lunch

Afternoon: Free time to enjoy a range of activities such as hiking, pottery, spa treatments, or simply unwind with a book whilst admiring the vastness of the mountain range

5:00 – 6:30pm: Marma Chikitsa, Yoga Nidra

6:30pm: Dinner

7:30pm: Kirtan, Fire Event

Sunday

7:30 – 8:45am: Breakfast

8:45am: Group Photos

9:00 – 10:15am: Asana, Pranayama, Meditation

10:15 – 10:40am: Closing Circle
