Description

Have you ever watched an actor on stage and wanted a bit of their poise, posture, or vocal presence? If so, Betsy Polatin, movement specialist and author of The Actor’s Secret, invites you to learn her unique approach for expanding your capacity to move freely and express yourself.

This 2-day experiential workshop offers hands-on guidance and simple exercises to enhance sensory skills as you explore walking, exercising, sitting, speaking, or executing any task or interaction. Our explorations allow habits to be seen. Once you understand more about your design, you are able to make more informed choices about how you move and think.

The Actor’s Secret integrates

  • The Alexander Technique for musculoskeletal reeducation
  • Breathing coordination for ease and spaciousness
  • Somatic Experiencing®  for nervous system regulation and trauma resolution.

You’ll learn to awaken your inherent potential by finding the support from the ground that can lead to full stature and expansion, while noting how trauma and overwhelm can interfere with this process.  We’re all performers and all the world’s a stage!

Open to everyone—performers, therapists, teachers, and anyone else who is interested in trauma, movement, breathing, and human behavior; all levels of yoga experience.
