Description

Developing a strong racial identity can be challenging in today’s society. Let social psychologist, award-winning author, and activist Christena Cleveland help you navigate your journey toward a strong, healthy racial identity despite living in a society with racial and cultural biases.

Through discussion, meditation, walking, introspection, group and one-on-one sharing, and creative exercises, you will discover your best path forward for forming your strongest identity. Through the lens of lovingkindness, you will create a new sense of self that is all-encompassing, compassionate, self-aware, and socially and culturally conscious.

In this enriching retreat, you will:

  • Deepen your understanding of your racial identity development
  • Expand your insights into how society has shaped your beliefs
  • Create lasting connections with yourself and like-minded individuals
  • Discover how to love yourself and others in a society marked by racial inequality
  • Learn how to use lovingkindness to deepen your connection with self and others
  • Experience higher awareness through meditative practices and creative arts

You will leave with a sense of connection and a constellation of spiritual and justice practices to support your journey toward racial identity development – and lovingkindness.

This retreat is appropriate for all familiar with systemic racism or on a racial justice identity journey; beginners are welcome.
