Some physical illnesses require innovative approaches to facilitate long term healing — instead of applying short term fixes that are expensive and have negative side effects.
In this workshop you will learn self-healing skills as an alternative to conventional medicine and discover how holistic methods can transform chronic pain into personal growth.
Dr. Larry Burk, MD, CEHP and co-founder of Duke Integrative Medicine, will introduce you to mind-body-spirit methods including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT); dreamwork; self-hypnosis; imagery and Qi Gong.
Through lectures, hands-on experience, sharing, Qi Gong practice, dream interpretation, and group and individual EFT and imagery demonstrations, you will learn:
- How to change your perspective on illness and wellness — embrace symptoms as sacred messages from the body, instead of shooting the messengers with suppressive treatments
- How to find the courage to face your greatest fears and get to the emotional roots of illness for healing in multiple dimensions of your life
- Actionable self-healing techniques to reduce your need for conventional medicine
- How to support your health with regular practices including therapeutic shaking, color breathing and Qi Gong exercises
You will go home with a grounding in self-healing skills and new knowledge of the symbolism of symptoms and how to interpret them.
CEU and CME credits may be available.
This program is aimed at participants with chronic symptoms, but may also be of interest to healthcare professionals.
