Iyanla Vanzant is well known for her work on Iyanla Fix My Life on the Oprah Winfrey Network.  In this workshop, she will share with you what she has done with a for thousands . . . the skill and tools to open your mind and heart to the greatest possibilities for your life.

The intention of the weekend is to provide a structure, using spiritual tools that will enable and empower participants to strengthen the four fundamental elements of their Being: SPIRIT, BODY, EMOTION, and MIND.  Using spiritual laws, principles, and practices to clear personal energy and focus the mind, participants are prepared to become the kind of person who is capable of creating the kind of life they desire and become the best version of themselves.

This Is Not Another Goal-Setting Program

This is the work that needs to be done before goals are attempted. This is the work that must be done in order to achieve goals. When this work is not done, individuals find that they will often pursue the wrong goals—or bump up against the same obstacles, over and over again.

Using the practices of conscious breath work, and the principles of mindfulness in an experiential context, participants can

  • Deepen their connection to Spirit/God/The Universe/Source
  • Learn to release old wounds and resentments by allowing emotions flow through, instead of control their consciousness
  • Cultivate mental, emotional, and physical clarity
  • Gain stamina and resilience
  • Deepen insight, so they can see themselves, others, and situations more clearly in order to make wiser choices.

You’ll emerge from this transformative program with more self-awareness, assessment techniques, and personal practices to enhance self-esteem and confidence that will attract what is required in order to achieve personal desires and goals.

Make Your Retreat Extra Special

Combine your retreat with authentic Ayurveda for rejuvenation on all levels, body, mind and spirit. The recommended Ayurveda treatment for this retreat is an Abhyanga massage (“Abby” for short), followed by a relaxing steam to further release stress. Pre-requisite: 18 years of age or older

Express your creativity through art therapy as you connect your emotions to the art of watercolor painting.

Ayurveda Cooking Class $25 (1 hour) Thursday and Saturday Only
Learn how to best nourish your specific body type and thrive in every season.

Pottery Class $30 (1 hour) Thursday to Sunday
Explore your creativity. Get hands-on experience in throwing on the wheel, hand-building and decorating handmade pots.

Ayurveda Spa Appointments (Additional Cost)

Hours: 9:00 am–6:30 pm daily
We invite you to also make reservations at our award-winning Shankara Ayurveda Spa prior to arrival in order to ensure availability. Please call 828-264-8382 for details.

FAQs

For room reservations, spa retreats, and Art of Living Retreat Center (AOLRC) signature retreats, we have the following cancellation policy:

  • Refunds are available (less a $50 processing fee) up to eight days before your program or stay.
  • Nonrefundable credit toward a future AOLRC program or stay (less a $50 processing fee) is available if you give notice between seven and one day(s) before your program or stay. Credit may be applied to any AOLRC program or stay for one year following date of issue.
  • No credit or refund is available if you cancel on the arrival day, if you do not show up, or if you leave an event early for any reason. No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content.  AOLRC reserves the right to cancel a program at any time. If AOLRC cancels a program, you will receive a full refund.  Some programs may have special cancellation policies; see individual workshop descriptions.  For all other retreats, please be sure to check the registration page specific to that retreat.

To encourage a healthy environment we ask that guest to not consume alcohol or meat in our public spaces, however, guests may enjoy these items in their rooms.

Our property is always smoke-free.

Yes, we ask that guests with food allergies simply inform us so we can communicate those needs to our chef. Typically, we label potential allergens such as gluten, dairy, and nuts.
