Are you an experienced Yin Yoga practitioner or do you usually choose a more dynamic style? Or have you never practiced any kind of yoga at all?
No matter your experience, this retreat is the ideal introduction to the profound connection between body and breath. Discover the meditative focus of pratyahara, or going within.
Experienced yoga teachers Kiesha Battles and Candace A. Jennings will guide you with sensitivity and reassuring confidence as you explore the ancient wisdom of classical Hatha yoga, blended with the depth of Yin Yoga and the healing touch of Thai Yoga.
Through yoga practice, breath work, and discussion you will learn:
- The principles of Yin Yoga and the benefits of opening your body in this slow, deep practice
- How to weave breath and movement or stillness together to create a more profound experience
- The foundations of pranamaya (breathing techniques), meditation, mantra, mudra, and yogic philosophy
- The power of balancing Yang and Yin energies – as Zen and Taoist philosophies are fused with Hatha yoga
- How to use your body to bring about a meditative state and move towards an insightful understanding of yourself
You will take away an embodied understanding of Yin Yoga, and the experience to continue working with the practice at home. And you will feel calm, centered, and grounded in yourself after a nurturing exploration of body and breath.
