We don’t come with manuals that automate the process of getting along. Even if we did, we aren’t robots—what works for one person won’t necessarily work for another. Nor does it work to fly blind, as many couples do, and expect relationships to simply fall into place.
Dr. Stan Tatkin and Tracey Boldemann-Tatkin, PhD, use the general principles of PACT to help you understand what makes a relationship successful, and how to work toward that with your partner. PACT, the Psychological Approach to Couple Therapy, was developed by Dr. Tatkin out of cutting-edge research in three areas: neuroscience, attachment theory, and biology of human arousal. During this weekend of teaching, interacting, and experimenting, Stan and Tracey lead you and your partner through exercises designed to help you identify each other’s attachment styles, read body language and arousal states, and manage conflicts to build secure-functioning relationships.
The workshop is a blend of theory instruction, dyadic exercises for the partners, demonstration, and question and answer time. The tools you will be shown are invaluable and ready to use immediately in your relationship. Don’t miss this interactive retreat for everyone interested in relationship success and long-term happiness.
This workshop welcomes couples of all genders and sexual orientations.
Tracey Boldemann-Tatkin, PhD, has served as the director of various philanthropic family foundations over the last three decades. In addition to her leadership roles, she has been involved at the ground level of humanitarian efforts worldwide. This sensitivity to family systems helps guide her work as co-executive of the PACT Institute. Together with her husband, Stan Tatkin, the developer of PACT, Tracey travels nationally and internationally to facilitate the training of mental-health professionals, as well as co-leading couple’s retreats. thepactinstitute.com
