Experience what it feels like to be grounded, open, flexible, strong, and stable as Whitney Wilkerson and Laura Terry guide you in cultivating a greater awareness of—and ease in—your body. This whole-system reset will bring the body into balance using physical therapy informed techniques, gentle movement, somatic exploration, and tools that calm the mind.

Over the course of the weekend, you’ll experience

  • Therapeutic yoga to nourish the nervous system
  • Movement classes to strengthen and energize the body
  • Accessible and supportive breathwork for calm and balance
  • Guided meditation techniques to develop tools for resilience and healing
  • Facilitated group discussion to support setting compassionate and realistic intentions for daily self-care practices.

You’ll take home new knowledge and a set of practices and strategies to find balance in body and mind every day.

This program is open to everyone; all levels of yoga experience. It is appropriate for individuals seeking a nourishing retreat focused on self-care, as well as yoga teachers, movement educators, bodyworkers, and physical therapists looking to expand their skill-set and incorporate additional tools into their professional practices. This retreat may be of particular benefit to caregivers in need of R&R.

Whitney Wilkerson

Whitney Wilkerson, E-RYT,  is a speaker, facilitator, and coach who uses the creative application of Gestalt, the principles of Positive Psychology, and a somatically driven toolbox in her private practice, workshops, and retreats.

Laura Terry

Laura Terry has been a practicing Physical Therapist for 20 years, and a yoga teacher for 10 years. She runs her own private practice offering Yoga and Physical Therapy, and she teaches regular workshops, classes, and continuing education courses.

On-Campus Program FAQs

For room reservations, Ayurveda Wellness Retreats, and Art of Living Retreat Center (AOLRC) signature retreats, we have the following cancellation policy:

  • Refunds are available (less a $50 processing fee) up to eight days before your program or stay.
  • Nonrefundable credit toward a future AOLRC program or stay (less a $50 processing fee) is available if you give notice between seven and one day(s) before your program or stay. Credit may be applied to any AOLRC program or stay for one year following date of issue.
  • No credit or refund is available if you cancel on the arrival day, if you do not show up, or if you leave an event early for any reason. No refund will be available if you attend a program and are dissatisfied with its presentation or content.  AOLRC reserves the right to cancel a program at any time. If AOLRC cancels a program, you will receive a full refund.  Some programs may have special cancellation policies; see individual workshop descriptions.  For all other retreats, please be sure to check the registration page specific to that retreat.

To encourage a healthy environment we ask that guest to not consume alcohol or meat in our public spaces, however, guests may enjoy these items in their rooms.

Our property is always smoke-free.

Yes, we ask that guests with food allergies simply inform us so we can communicate those needs to our chef. Typically, we label potential allergens such as gluten, dairy, and nuts.

  • Rest, replenish and rejuvenate with Abhyanga therapy—a detoxifying warm oil Ayurveda massage that incorporates warm, aromatic oils, rhythmically massaged into your body, cleansing, relaxing, and re-energizing the body and mind.

AFTERNOON

  • Grab some delicious chai and relax in our cafe or take in the majestic views on our deck.
  • Plan your afternoon over a nourishing lunch.
  • Connect with nature while hiking or walking one of our many breathtaking mountain trails.
  • Return to the spa for a Basti session to rejuvenate your joints! Stiff joints are bathed in warm medicated oil and massaged to deepen the therapeutic effects that increase lubrication and promote smooth flexibility and mobility.
