A Meditation, Mindful Yoga and Dharma Retreat

Meditation, Mindful Yoga & Dharma teachings practiced together provide a profound way to strengthen the container and awaken the wisdom within. When wisdom arises we are able to observe the habits of mind that cause suffering. Out of wisdom comes the ability to make wise choices by recognizing that peace is just a breath away regardless of life’s changing conditions.

This retreat will be filled with periods of both Passive (Yin) & Gentle Active Yoga, sitting and walking meditation along with dharma teachings. The practices are appropriate for all levels of experience.

When mindfulness and yoga are practiced together they help create an inner environment of calm which supports clarity of vision. This promotes the insight that builds as wisdom and expresses itself as compassion, the key to happiness. It helps one to grow in toleration, listen deeply and make wise choices in a life. Additionally, when the teachings of the dharma and yoga are practiced in this seamless way, we have the pleasure and satisfaction of learning cognitively, contemplatively and viscerally. As we interweave what we have learned, we will explore how to bring the many benefits of these practices into our daily life.

Brahmani & Jashoda love teaching together. They have been friends and colleagues for years, integrating the teachings of mindful meditation and yoga practice.*No previous experience in meditation or yoga is necessary.

     

About the teachers

Brahmani Liebman, MSEd, E-RYT 500 & Jashoda Edmunds, E-RYT 500 have been students of yoga, meditation, Buddhism and seekers of truth since the 1970s. They have been teachers for more than 25 years each and currently on the faculty of the Kripalu School of Yoga & Ayurveda. They have taught the Kripalu 200 hour teacher training at Kripalu, California & Japan. Part of the 1,000 hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training faculty they co-created a Kripalu Yin Yoga Teacher Training and Living A Spiritual Life program. They each founded yoga studios in New York & California. Together they are cofounders of Journey Into Yoga School of Yoga & Meditation; Teacher Trainings RYS both in the 200 & 500 hour schools and the CD Journey Into Yoga: Awakening the Spirit. Journey into Yoga also offers Yoga & meditation retreats, trainings and workshops worldwide.They have additional training as Phoenix Rising yoga therapists, Transcendental Reiki master/teacher and Shiatsu practitioner. They balance their lives as wives, mothers, grandmothers & Yoginis. Brahmani & Jashoda love teaching together and sharing all that has inspired them to walk the path of life with joy and and lightness of heart.

4:30 pm – 7:30 pm – Free Time*
