Marma therapy is an ancient practice of Ayurveda, which helps participants feel more energetic, centered and relaxed. By certifying as a marama practitioner, you are able to offer this experience of renewal to others.
Whether it is because of stress or lifestyle, we face many challenges to keep our energy high. While we can approach this problem from many angles, marma offers a unique holistic solution.
Marma therapy is simple and effective. It requires minimal equipment and can be practiced anywhere.
The ancient definition of marma describes marma points as “the various points on the body where the subtle life energy becomes matter, where thoughts transfer into the physical”. Marma points are junctures in the body, fundamental built-in electrical switches. In this view, any sore point on the surface of the body can be linked to a blocked marma.
Just as in the physical body, the passage ways become blocked by toxins, in the same way mental stresses cloud or obstruct these subtle points, reducing the flow of energy. In marma therapy, gently touching the marma points releases blocks and allows life energy to freely flow. This enhanced circulation in turn nourishes the nearby organs and tissues.
Marma therapy is potentially the most restorative of the Ayurvedic treatments as it harmonizes the body’s built-in energy network.
The marma practitioner training teaches you the fundamentals of marma theory and practice. You will gain an understanding of energy centers and how to apply pressure to gently adjust the flow of energy.
