“Graced”, a nationally touring kirtan band featuring Rick Franz, Lindsey DePeri, and percussionist Steve Prince brings exciting, dynamic, jazzy funkiness to traditional mantra practice. Shannon Dievendorf, owner of Rebel Yoga in Oak Island NC will lead the daily asana practice.

Rick tells colorful stories of Hindu deities, and along with interpretations, meditations and introspection he brings this ancient practice to a truly personal and poignant level for participants.

Lindsey avidly studies and teaches western astrology influenced by her background as a yoga teacher and with a focus on the soul’s evolutionary journey. She explores the characteristics of the rebel spirit in each of us through astrological archetypes and provides spiritual context to key life passages.

Shannon Dievendorf (owner: Rebel Soul Yoga in Oak Island, NC.) is a sparkler! Five years in addiction recovery, she serves as an example of what’s possible when you choose to get healed and whole again. Her hatha yoga classes are well connected, focus on breath awareness and self love.

This inspiring team of teachers will lead you on an energetic journey into the soul using Bhakti Yoga, Mantra, Music, Yoga Asana, Meditation and Astrology.

With practical workshops, group discussion, guided meditation, kirtan, yoga classes and storytelling you will:

•Learn about Western Astrology and Hindu lore, and how the concepts and philosophies of each can draw you towards a more insightful understanding of yourself
•Explore archetypal themes — including the characteristics of the rebel spirit — and their relationship with astrological influences
•Feel the power of group chanting during kirtan, and discover the myths that accompany Sanskrit mantras
•Experience the spiritually energizing effects of Cacao and rituals of gratitude
•Balance body and mind with yoga practice

You will go home with a profound sense of grounded relaxation and the inspiration to carry this experience into your daily life.

Rick Franz

Rick Franz is a professional musician who has been playing and touring with globally renowned kirtan leaders for over two decades. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and draws his background in the healing arts and Hindu lore into his musical work — with an eclectic and deeply spiritual musical style.

Lindsey DePeri

Lindsey DePeri is a yoga teacher with a particular focus on the study and teaching of Western Astrology. She shares empowering insights through her teachings and gives guidance and coaching to clients around the world, with a focus on the soul’s evolutionary journey. She tours with Rick as Graced, a kirtan duo.

Shannon Dievendorf

Shannon Dievendorf began her yoga journey in 2013 and soon realized that the physical and spiritual benefits extended far further than she’d first thought. She soon opened Rebel Soul Yoga in Oak Island, NC. Her hatha yoga classes focus on breath awareness, self love and connection.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us at the Art of Living Retreat Center. While here, we invite you to immerse in the quiet peace of the Blue Ridge Mountains and connect with yourself. Apart from the activities in your program schedule, there are also opportunities to join daily yoga and meditation classes, restorative Ayurvedic spa treatments, guided hiking trails, pottery classes, evening Kirtans, the outdoor labyrinth or the weekly Bonfire. To encourage a healthy environment we ask that guest to not consume alcohol or meat in our public spaces, however guests may enjoy these items in their rooms. That being said our property is always smoke-free.

Yes, we ask that guests with food allergies simply inform us so we can communicate those needs to our chef. Typically we label potential allergens such as gluten, dairy and nuts.
