Ayurveda originated in India and is considered a science of life. From the Sanskrit words “Ayur” for life, and “Veda” meaning science or knowledge, Ayurveda offers a sense of wisdom that can help you cultivate vitality and optimal potential. This practice can be used in your everyday life to provide a spiritual blueprint for ideal daily and seasonal activities: diet, senses, behaviors, thoughts, sleeping and energy.
On this retreat you will receive an Ayurvedic consultation and learn how to incorporate Ayurveda into your daily movement, plus begin to understand the fundamentals of Ayurveda and explore how this sister science to yoga connects to your practice, diet and lifestyle. Through a deep understanding of how important and impactful sadhana (a daily practice) is to your well being you will delve into how to craft a practice that works for you – utilizing yoga, the wisdom of Ayurveda, meditation and pranayama. Journaling is encouraged throughout and spending time in nature will be a big part of your retreat.
You will leave the retreat with an understanding of your individual constitution, knowledge of any imbalances you may have and ways to restore your balance, plus a customised daily yoga practice.
Some prior yoga experience is required.
