Jeffrey Shoaf – E-RYT-500, C-IAYT, LMBT, YACEP: Yoga Instructor, Yoga Educator, Certified Yoga Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, YACEP.
Jeff has been an avid practitioner of yoga since his first class at Main Street Yoga in Illinois in August of 2002. His trainings from the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts include 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, 500 Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Certification. His teachers and mentors are Yoganand Michael Carroll from the Pranakriya Yoga School of Healing Arts, Marlysa Sullivan, of the Center for Integrative Yoga Studies, and also includes extensive early influence from the work of Gary Kraftsow and Eric Schiffman. Additionally, he has practiced ayurveda therapies under the direction and assistance of Dr. Ashlesha Raut, a board certified physician of Ayurveda.
Jeffrey is also a licensed massage therapist, practicing integrative bodywork, with a focus on myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy. He works with clients and students individually, integrating both bodywork and yoga therapy techniques to improve, integrate, and unite the body/mind connection. As of June, 2015, Jeffrey has relocated to his home state of North Carolina, where he teaches yoga classes, and practices bodywork and yoga therapy in Charlotte and trains yoga teachers and yoga therapists around the USA. Mary Thia Powers – E-RYT500 began studying yoga and meditation in 1997, credentialing as a 200-hour yoga instructor in 2001 in the Astanga Tradition and as a 500-hour Professional Level Yoga Instructor in 2007 (E-RYT 500). She added Yoga Nidra and I-Rest certification (with Richard Miller, 2007); Restorative Yoga Certification (with Judith Lasater, 2009); Holotropic Breathwork Immersion (Stanislav Grof & Jack Kornfield, 2009); Yin Yoga teacher Training Immersion (Sarah Powers, 2010); and Blue Throat Yoga Immersion (Paul Ortega, 2011-13). She is nearing completion of a yearlong Dhamma Study and Practice Program with Insight Meditation Community of Charlotte, NC. She has taught and continues to teach meditation and yoga in at various studios and corporate venues, including Yoga for Life/Centered Wellness in Charlotte, NC; Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, SC; The Crown Club in Charlotte NC; YMCA and YWCA in Charlotte, and The Cornwell Center in Charlotte. Mary recently co-facilitated a wellness retreat at Wild Hope Farm in Chester, SC, and continues to offer private yoga and meditation sessions. Since 1999, she has completed multiple silent retreats with Satya Narayan Goenka, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Bikkhu Bodhi, and Adya Shanti.
