Join Lisa Jakub and Cecily Armstrong for a restorative and empowering retreat exploring various aspects of emotional and physical wellness through writing, yoga and community.

In a creative exploration you will delve into the roles that anxiety and the inner critic play in your daily life and gain a deeper understanding of your purpose, connection, and authentic power. Through reflective and grounding practices including yoga, breathing techniques, meditation and journaling you will realign with your inner stillness as you can reconnect with your true, authentic self and feel strong in your body. Learn to use writing as a tool for authenticity and discover how to make healthier choices for physical and emotional nourishment in your everyday life so you can engage with the world in a fulfilling way, plus enjoy free time to enjoy the beautiful mountain retreat center.

No writing or yoga experience necessary.

About the Teachers


Lisa Jakub is an author, writing teacher and a Kripalu yoga teacher. She grew up in Hollywood, acting in more than forty movies and TV shows, such as Mrs. Doubtfire and Independence Day. After an eighteen-year career, she left Los Angeles to search for a life that felt more authentic. She found that life through writing and yoga. Lisa is grateful for the opportunity to teach and share her passion with others. More

Cecily Armstrong’s trainings span through many decades and explore all facets of the mind, body, and spirit. She has a Health Coach Certification from the Integrative Institute of Nutrition and is a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Cecily has been teaching yoga for 20 years and is a facilitator at the Hero’s Journey during the summer immersion. Cecily has a deep passion for helping others. More

Thursday
4:30 – 6:00pm: We’ll gather to meet and connect. Introductions and a review of the workshop.
6:00 – 7:30pm: Dinner break
7:30pm: Attend Kirtan together

Friday
6:30am: Sunrise yoga with Cecily
7:30 – 9:00am: Breakfast /free time
9:30am – 12:00pm: Lisa’s writing class – What is true and real: writing as a tool for authenticity.
12:00 – 2:00pm: Lunch break/free time
2:00 – 4:30pm: Cecily’s session – Aspects of nourishment: emotional and physical. Understand your personal Biome and how it directly impacts your mental health, energy and immunity.
4:45 – 5:45pm: Yoga at the center
6:00 – 7:30pm: Dinner

Saturday
6:30am: Sunrise yoga with Lisa
7:30 – 9:00am: Breakfast / free time
9:30am – 12:00pm: Cecily’s session – Dealing with challenging relationships and setting good boundaries with people who are energy vampires.
12:00 – 2:00pm: Lunch break / free time
2:00 – 4:30pm: Lisa’s writing class: dealing with the inner critic and accessing the present moment to reduce stress and anxiety.
4:45 – 5:45pm: Yoga at the center
6 – 7:30pm: Dinner

6:30am: Sunrise yoga with both Lisa and Cecily
7:30 – 9:00am: Breakfast / free time
9:00 – 10:30am: Wrap up and integration. How to take the tools we have learned into the world.
