Find Inspiration with Yoga and Creative Writing

Lavish in the fall colors of the Blue Ridge Mountains, unlock your creative energy, and give yourself the time and space to nurture your creative self-expression.
This retreat merges the introspective and inspiring qualities of yoga and creative writing. When the mind is at peace, creativity flows; Melissa will help you discover your unique voice and make your writing come to life – whether you are a published author or simply want to journal, no matter what genre lights you up.

The yoga sessions are appropriate for all levels: they harmonize the qualities of Iyengar and Kripalu yoga practices, attending to alignment as well as the flow of meditation in motion. Through the practice, we can learn to make peace with our inner critic, release judgment, and get inspired, which is essential to the creative process.

Throughout your retreat you will enjoy:

  • Morning yoga classes (appropriate for all levels)
  • Creative writing sessions that explore craft techniques, including the power of metaphor, storytelling, imagery
  • and the imagination
  • Guided meditations to make peace with your inner critic
  • Daily inspirational philosophy talks on yogic wisdom and living a fulfilled, creative life
  • Time for reflection in nature

You’ll leave feeling deeply relaxed and vibrantly inspired. The changing of the season is also the perfect time to transform your writing life, invigorate your creative energy, create new work, or make progress on an existing project. A perfect way to discover your inner creativity.

An ideal retreat for yoga students (of all levels), teachers, writers, and anyone looking to unlock their creative potential.

The program is accredited for yoga alliance CEU and YACEP workshops.
