Feeling love in your heart center and taking some time to smile and laugh has exceptional health benefits – increase in blood flow and oxygen to all the major organs; enhanced endorphin levels which creates feelings of well-being and reduces pain; stimulates a healthy immune system; and reduces stress!

You will learn a range of yoga practices including asana (physical practices), pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, and yoga nidra to guide you back to your true nature and reconnect with your inner light. Explore yoga philosophy and begin to understand how this relates to your yoga practice beyond the mat and into your daily life to bring about peace of mind and joy in your heart.

Yoga teachers, Terry and Heather, combine their years of experience of study, practice, and teaching to bring you simple and direct approaches to learn how to maintain a life of wellness and happiness! The Yoga for Life! retreat is a chance to take a break from your busy life and become firmly grounded and centered.

Items to bring: Please bring extra yoga blankets and bolsters if you can. There is no required reading.

Open to all levels of yoga practitioners. Yoga instructors can apply these hours to their RYT CEUs.

About the Teachers

Heather Patton, E-RYT, has been practicing yoga since 1999. She has completed Triad Yoga Institute Teacher Training certification program, as well as Cindy Dollar’s teacher training course. In addition to private instruction, Heather’s classes include beginner, intermediate, and Senior Chair Yoga. Her training on the Yoga Wall is utilized in Triad Yoga’s Healthy Back and Spine class. Heather leads her students to find their own path from deep within. One of her great joys is sharing yoga and its healing properties at an Alcohol and Drug Treatment facility. She hopes that all will experience the joy that comes from the practice of yoga, and is thrilled watching the lives of her regular clients change through their own dedicated yoga practice.

Terry Brown, E-RYT 500, co-director of the Triad Yoga Institute in Greensboro, NC, has been a student of yoga and meditation since 1984. Terry is a Certified Yoga Therapist, a certified Purna Yoga Instructor at the 2000 Hour Level and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. He teaches alignment-based asana to enhance the connection of the energetic and physical bodies, thereby enhancing the yoga poses’ benefits and healing effects. Terry enjoys seeing his students learn and grow from the yoga practices that help us rediscover the inner light of love. His main teacher and influence, Aadil Palkhivala, is the co-founder of Purna Yoga™. His wife, Savitri, is the teacher of Heartfull Meditation™, a practice to help align you with your intuition and help connect you to your heart.
