Dr. Shawn Arango Ricks is an intuitive healer, licensed mental health and addictions counselor, certified hypnotherapist, and life coach in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has been a nationally invited speaker and facilitator in the areas of mental health, equity, and social justice.
Dr. Ricks combines her personal life experiences with more than 20 years of research and teaching. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees (from Penn State University) as a single parent after experiencing an unplanned pregnancy in college. At the age of 38, as a working mother of three, she returned to school for her PhD. Being determined to “get it done,” Dr. Ricks experienced burnout and fatigue, and began to realize that she was wearing a mask by pretending to be okay.
