Eben Alexander, MD, was an academic neurosurgeon for more than 25 years, including 15 years at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School in Boston.
He thought he knew how the brain, mind and consciousness worked, but after a near-death experience during a week long coma, he discovered that there was more to life than he’d thought.
