Marla Apt is a senior level Iyengar Yoga teacher, named by Yoga Journal as one of twenty-one yoga teachers helping to shape the future of yoga. With a degree in Buddhist Philosophy and ongoing involvement in medical research studies exploring the role of yoga in the treatment of depression, anxiety and IBS, she is passionate about creating avenues for the therapeutic use of yoga. She is a founding board member of the non-profit organization Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics, and is a member of the certification committee of the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the U.S.A. Marla teaches in Los Angeles and around the world, and travels to India every year to further her studies of yoga.
