Are you passionate about meditation, breathwork, yoga, and Ayurveda? Do you enjoy being of service and dream of living within a thriving retreat community? If so, the Resident Volunteer Program at the Art of Living Retreat Center offers unique and enriching opportunities.
Each season, we welcome new volunteers to our campus to support the daily operations of the Center while embarking on a transformative living experience. This program is ideal for those seeking personal growth, purposeful service, and deep connections with a community of like-minded individuals.
Program Overview
Our Resident Volunteer Program includes a 10-week curriculum crafted to help you thrive in a communal, dynamic environment. Guided by the principles of yoga and Ayurveda, this program provides valuable tools for personal growth, heightened self-awareness, and effective communication.

- March 2—May 26
- June 1—August 26
- August 31—November 24
Accommodations & Meals
Resident volunteers are provided shared retreat room living accommodations supporting their ability to contribute, learn, and grow.
Residents have access to a shared vegetarian, egg-free kitchen, providing a space for meal preparation. Meals in our Dining Hall are complimentary and feature a wholesome, plant-based cuisine. If you have any specific food allergies, please note them in your application.
Roles & Responsibilities
Resident Volunteers typically support the following departments:
- Kitchen & Dining Assist in meal preparation, service, and cleanup.
- Events Help with logistics, guest services, and event coordination.
- Transportation Provide shuttle services and assist with guest arrivals.
- Housekeeping Support maintaining clean and welcoming spaces.
- Garden Participate in seasonal planting, maintenance, and harvesting.

Application Details
To apply, you’ll need to
- Complete the application form
- Submit a recent photo of yourself
- Provide three reference letters from leaders of previous volunteer experiences, past employers, or others who can speak to your ability to thrive in our program.
- Pay a $25 non-refundable application fee.
Applications are reviewed promptly. Once accepted, you must commit to the full term of the program.
