She served for 14 years on the Board of Directors at Peter’s Place, a center for grieving children and families, and co-founded Safe Space for Girls, a weekly therapeutic group for adolescents. Karen lives in suburban Philadelphia with her husband, and cherishes time spent hiking, reading, and connecting with her three adult children.
