Harness the Transformational Power of Plants
Immerse yourself in a transformative approach to herbal medicine that nurtures both physical health and soul evolution. This retreat delves into the evolutionary model of herbalism, integrating clinical herbalism, Ayurveda, medical astrology, and spagyric alchemy. Deepen your connection with nature, recognize archetypal patterns in people and plants, and apply herbs for profound healing.
You will progress through the Five Pillars of Evolutionary Herbalism:
1. Natura Sophia
Explore the importance of your connection to Nature and capacity to learn about the plants from the plants themselves by balancing your intellect and intuitive faculties.
2. Energetic Architecture
Explore nature’s root patterns that unify traditional medicine. Reconnect with herbalism’s cosmological foundations through the Seven Planets, Five Elements, and Three Principles.
3. Universal Herbalism
Apply the energetic architecture model to traditions of herbalism across the world, from TCM and Ayurveda, to Eclecticism and Physiomedicalism, for a truly holistic approach.
4. Transformational Medicine
Integrate the art of spagyric alchemy and medical astrology with clinical herbalism for a system that heals the whole person with the whole plant.
5. Know Thyself
Gain insight into your constitutional and astrological patterns, personal transformation cycles, and how to work with plants for collective evolutionary healing.
You’ll walk away with a transformed approach to herbal medicine, profound insights into yourself and those you serve, and a deeper reverence for the healing power of alchemically prepared plants. Now more than ever, the world needs the transformative medicine of plants—but they need a bridge to bring their wisdom forth. Are you ready to step onto the plant path?

Program FAQ
This workshop is totally open to brand new herbalists with little to no understanding of herbal concepts or traditions.
The Evolutionary Herbalism approach is highly unique in its synergistic and integrative approach, including astrological medicine and alchemy. It will offer new insights, perspectives, strategies, and practices for the advanced herbal practitioner, while still being accessible to newbies.
This is the first opportunity for a long-form live workshop with Sajah in over 6 years. This workshop is core Evolutionary Herbalism philosophy, which benefits all students at the school regardless of program enrollment and is highly recommended for any SEH student.
Sajah Popham has a BS in Herbal Sciences from Bastyr University, has been practicing in the lab and clinic for over 15 years, and has learned from some of the top herbalists of the modern day, including Matthew Wood, David Winston, Margi Flint, Paul Bergner, Robert Bartlett, and Judith Hill. His unique synergy of practical clinical herbalism with spagyric alchemy and astrological medicine is highly specialized and not to be found anywhere else.
No, this is not a therapeutically designed formula and will not be a “use this herb for that symptom” type of workshop. It is rather focused on the big picture philosophical and practical approach to holistic herbal medicine.
Certainly! Anyone that has an interest in these subjects will find the workshop materials highly engaging and inspiring. Whether you want to start a clinical practice, use herbs for yourself and family, or are just philosophically interested in alchemy, astrology and herbalism, you will find great benefit in the materials.
