Winter has nearly bid us goodbye in most parts of the world, spring is on the horizon, and love is in the air. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, there is a sudden burst of energy in people you see everywhere, at your workplace, at home, and on your commute to work.
The million-dollar question would be, why keep the spirits high only for a particular reason? Why can’t we always have the spirit elevated? If we dig further, we find the secret to keeping our spirits high lies within us. We just need to fine-tune the self to see the magic work.
So keep your spirits high this Valentine’s Day and the rest of the year with these simple yoga poses and let the love flow easily:
(Adho Mukho Svanasana)
This is a heart opening pose that is used as a resting position as it calms the system, energizes the body and channelizes the flow of emotions.
(Makara Adho Mukha Svanasana)
The Dolphin Plank is another heart-opening yoga pose that relieves the body of headache, fatigue and back-ache.
The Cobra pose expands and improves blood circulation to the chest region. This heart-opening yoga posture opens up channels of energy and love in you.
The Shoulder stand stretches the heart muscles by returning more venous blood to the heart and also stimulates the thyroid gland.
Every person loves an expressive lover. The Chair pose helps you express better by stimulating the heart and opening your heart chakra.
The Warrior pose improves balance in the body and increases stamina. It also releases stress while calming the mind and helps keep the heart rate in check.
All these asanas will help circulate blood smoothly and efficiently in the heart region. Each asana should be repeated 5 to 10 times with deep breaths (and a smile!).
The best part of these asanas is that they not only uplift you emotionally and keep your spirits high but will also keep your heart healthy. That’s one more reason to pull out your yoga mat!
